The terminal is printing the wrong date on receipts

Receipts show yesterday's date, or the batch closes at the wrong time. Reset the terminal clock.

What's happening

The terminal keeps its own clock, separate from your POS. When that clock drifts or resets, receipts print the wrong date and the batch closes against the wrong business day. Most often this happens after a power cut, or twice a year when daylight saving changes.

Before you start

  • Take the terminal out of any transaction and get back to the idle screen
  • Have your manager passcode ready — the clock is behind it
  • Do this outside of service if you can; the terminal restarts at the end

Fix it

  1. From the idle screen, press the menu key.
  2. Choose Settings. The screen shows a list with Date & time in it.
  3. Enter your manager passcode.
  4. Choose Date & time, then Set date. Type the date as six digits.
  5. Choose Set time. Type the time as four digits in 24-hour form — 2:30pm is 1430.
  6. Confirm. The terminal restarts and returns to the idle screen.
  7. Run one $1.00 test sale and check the printed date. Void it afterwards.

Did that work?

Yes — you're set. Nothing else to do.

No — if the clock is still wrong after a restart, stop here and call us.

Stop and call us

Call if the date resets every time the terminal powers off, if the menu won't accept your passcode, or if the receipt date is right but the batch is still closing on the wrong day. That last one is a settlement setting, not a clock setting, and we have to change it on our side.
